Make A Great Day
Growing up, anytime I would leave the house my dad would give me a hug, tell me he loved me, and say "Make a great day!"
It was the norm.
It was awesome for a lot of reasons.
I was very blessed to hear "I love you" all the time.
His hugs are the best hugs ever; like getting hugged by a teddy bear.
His parting words have stuck with me so much I share them with you at the end of all my emails.
They are the same words I share with my kids, "Make a great day!"
Some times, great days just happen.
I love those days.
A lot of times though, you have to MAKE a great day.
Great days don't just land in your lap.
How do you make a great day?
You get to chose who you want to be and how you show up even on those days where things don't feel so great.
It might look like looking for the things that went well in your day.
Maybe it looks like not beating yourself up when you don't show up as your best self.
Perhaps it is remembering that you don't have to be negative about the negative parts of life.
Whatever it is...you get to decide.
