Let Off Some Steam
Stress can build up in us like steam in a pressure cooker—and if we don’t release it, eventually it blows.
One of the best ways I’ve found to let off that steam is through exercise. Movement literally helps your body process stress. It doesn’t have to be an intense workout at the gym—it could be a walk around the block, dancing in the kitchen, or chasing your kids in the backyard.
Exercise doesn’t solve the challenges of a mixed faith marriage, but it can clear the fog, lighten the load, and give you space to respond instead of react. It’s a way of taking care of your nervous system so you can show up as the spouse, parent, and person you want to be.
This week, when you feel the pressure rising—move. Let off some steam.
