Before you speak... THINK.
Have you ever said something in the heat of the moment and immediately wished you could take it back?
(Me too. You’re in good company. 😉)
In our mixed faith relationships, communication can be tender. Emotional. Even loaded. And sometimes, it’s tempting to speak quickly—especially when we feel misunderstood or want to make a point.
But here’s a little tool I love that helps me pause and choose my words more intentionally:
THINK before you speak:
T – Is it True?
H – Is it Helpful?
I – Is it Inspiring?
N – Is it Necessary?
K – Is it Kind?
If the words we’re about to say don’t check most (or any) of those boxes, it might be worth holding them a little longer.
This doesn’t mean we don’t speak our truth.
It just means we speak it with love. With care. With connection in mind.
Let’s use our words to build bridges—not walls.
